Our Group’s research interest is to explore Host-Pathogen interactions using Caenorhabditis elegans as model system, which includes:

Establishment of C. elegans as model for various human pathogenic bacterial infections (Vibrio spp, Shigella spp, Proteus spp, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus, etc.,)
Analysis of antimicrobial gene expression pattern in C. elegans against the Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria by Gene silencing (RNAi) and over expression studies
Proteome based analysis to understand the translational level changes against bacterial infection.
Analysis of host-pathogen interaction by non destructive analysis like FTIR, NMR, Calorimetric analysis and Thermal analysis with special reference to bacterial lipoglycans.
